Description
Bergamot Essential Oil has a delightfully delicate, light and refreshing aroma – something like oranges and lemons mixed with slight floral overtones. With its wide variety of medicinal powers, Bergamot Essential Oil is considered excellent for both mental and physical equilibrium and healing.
Bergamot Essential Oil is well known for its’Â calming yet uplifting character, so it can be great for anxiety, depression, nervous tension and negative emotions in general.
Its antiseptic abilities help combat infection, particularly when used in a sitz bath to fight urinary infections, or in helping to reduce fever. It also acts as a deodorant, a digestive stimulant and can be added to a base lotion to soothe skin problems such as eczema and psoriasis.

Photosensitising means that an oil can cause skin to become more sensitive to the sun. This is true of many of the citrus oils, especially Bergamot, which contains bergaptene, a constituent that causes photosensitivity.
