Description

Note: 20:1 means it takes 20kg of bark to produce 1kg of extract.

These herbal extracts are ideal for adding to herbal teas, or other beverages, and can also be added to foods. When calculating the required amount, consider how much of the normal herb you would use, and divide that by at least 10 as these extracts are concentrated. The Albizia julibrissin extract is safe to consume, a typical dose would be 300-600 mg and the maximum recommended would be 1500 mg per day.

Mimosa bark (Albizia julibrissin) has a rich history of use in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It traditionally has been used to support a healthy stress response and a healthy mood. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is so closely aligned with mood support that, in Chinese, it is known as “happiness” bark and flowers. Mimosa has fernlike leaves, prickly stems and fluffy pink flowers, but it is the bark that is most often used. (The flowers can also be used.)

Modern herbalists and scientific studies have found that Mimosa bark offers antioxidant support, and it is an adaptogen that promotes a healthy response to stress, by supporting the adrenals. It also promotes a calm and normal mood. Mimosa is considered to promote natural regulation of the HPA (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal) axis. The herb is often used to promote sleep as well as emotional and mental calmness, and it supports the body’s natural balance (or switch) between the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems.

Albizia is an extraordinary remedy for unshakeable depression, melancholia, severe loss, broken heartedness, anxiety, and chronic grief.

Albizia julibrissin has been classified as an herbal oneirogen, which is a plant that produces or enhances dream-like states of consciousness.
