Sandalwood Large Chips – Australia (Santalum spicatum)
$8.95 – $131.45
Description
Our Sandalwood Chips are sustainably harvested from wild Sandalwood of the native Western Australian Sandalwood species – Santalum spicatum. From Western Australia, the sandalwood is deadwood – that is, Sandalwood that has naturally died and collected from the desert floors of Western Australia. The chips vary in shape and size but are approximately 5 – 8cm in length. They are beautifully aromatic and the benefits are reaped when the chips are burned or placed on a hot plate.
Sandalwood has been used as a holy incense since the beginning of time. Early on, people observed that Sandalwood was never attacked by termites, which may have led to its reputation as a protective wood. The scent is believed to be one of the most pleasing to the gods. It is believed to have cooling and soothing properties, and to direct one’s attention toward the divine realms. It is popular in blended incense and combines well with the sacred resins Frankincense and Myrrh.
