Snow Lotus Seeds (Saussureae Involucratae)
$9.95 – $87.45
Description
Snow lotus is a flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It is a specialty and rare herb mainly produced in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and neighboring areas. It grows in mountain rock crevices scattered above the snow at about 4,800 to 5,800 meters above sea level.
It is a perennial herb and grows slowly although with strong vitality. Usually, only 5 percent of seeds sprout, and the plant requires 3 to 5 years of growth to reach fruition.
Due to low temperatures, with snow standing through spring and autumn, the plant must grow in harsh conditions, and sometimes tastes a little bit bitter. It is believed to enhance Yang, the essence of male energy, and regulates Ying, the essence of female activity.
Its seeds are rich in collagen, protein, keratin and amino acids. It is good for liver protection, soothes the lungs, and it also helps to maintain beautiful and radiant skin with regular consumption.
Soak the seeds in the fridge in water for 5 hours before use. It can be made into foods like bird’s nest soup, or rubbed onto the skin to improve your complexion.
Note: These are not viable seeds for growing, they have been de-husked, cleaned and dried for consumption.
