In 2015 it was part of the Nobel prize where the sesquiterpene lactone artemisinin was found contained in the plant, proving its anti-malarial qualities.
It has been traditionally used to treat, Malaria,Tuberculosis, Jaundice, wound and haemorrhoids as well as viral, bacterial and autoimmune diseases.
Studies today have confirmed traditional uses, and evidence has been found that Sweet annie is also anti-inflammatory, analgesic, an antioxidant, and even anti-tumour.
