Description
Native to India and Southeast Asia this is a member of the ginger family. This perennial herb has traditionally been cultivated for a number of purposes including medicinal and the making of arrow poisons.
Medicinally this is a stimulant and tonic. It has antimicrobial action and contains high levels of Terpine-4-ol, one of the key actives in Tea Tree Oil.
While this doesn’t smell like ginger, it is sometimes used as a substitute for it.
